LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- What should be built on the Givaudan site?

The company is inviting the community to discuss options at an upcoming listening session scheduled for 6 p.m. Sept. 17 at United Crescent Hill Ministries at 150 State St.

The session will provide an opportunity for neighbors to make suggestions for what they'd like to see at the site after the plant is completely demolished.

Givaudan said in August that demolition will begin "within the next few weeks." It's expected to take 40 days to complete, but that could change, depending on the weather.

An explosion at the plant last November killed two workers and injured 11 others. The blast also caused significant damage to many nearby homes and businesses.
