LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Norton Children's Hospital plans to add a new resource center that will go beyond medical care.
Renderings for Norton Children's Cancer Institute Resource Center were released Tuesday.
The center will help address issues such as the emotional toll of a diagnosis, financial issues, schooling and transitioning from pediatric to adult care.
"Team Kentucky is leading the fight against childhood cancer, because all our kids deserve to grow up happy and healthy," Gov. Andy Beshear said in a news release. "Thanks to the health care heroes at Norton Children’s for providing world-class care and making it even more accessible to kids across the commonwealth."
Beshear and the Kentucky Pediatric Cancer Research Trust Fund announced $976,333 grant to Norton Children's Cancer Institute to launch the family resource center.
The center will be located on the eighth floor of the Novak Center for Children's Health. Construction on the center will begin this summer and be completed by early 2026.
