LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Corydon, Indiana, restaurant says it'll rebuild after a fire broke out Saturday morning.
The Harrison Township Fire Department said in a social media post that firefighters responded to a structure fire at El Nopalitos just before 7:30 a.m.
There was a working fire inside the kitchen and roof, which caused multiple agencies to be called in to help.
The fire was brought under control after a coordinated offensive attack and ventilation of the roof.
Authorities said firefighters were able to save "a majority of the restaurant."
The restaurant was loved by many with the business getting several supportive comments on social media.
"We drive all the way from Bedford; this was about an hour and 40-minute drive to be here and we come down here about once a week. It's tragic," Butch Bower said.
"It's just a great restaurant and it's a big loss, this town loves El Nops and the people that work there," Corydon resident Anita Ettner said.
In a social media post, El Nopalito said the fire caused severe damage which was going to make them permanently close the restaurant.
In an update Sunday, the restaurant said it'll rebuild and "come back stronger."
