LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Taste of Louisville will celebrate 50 years of honoring the city's restaurants for a good cause.

The annual event will take place on Oct. 16 at the Mellwood Arts Center from 6 to 9 p.m. People will be able to meet more than 75 culinary talents and enjoy more than 25 drink stations.

Organizers said many people return to the event year after year. Local nonprofits Frankie's Family and Feed Louisville benefit from the event.

"Frankie's Family brings Christmas to children, and not only to children, to seniors," said Tom Enyeart with Gordon Food Service. "We bring them coats and things like that plus toys. And then Feed Louisville, food insecurity in Louisville is just a tough thing we're dealing with."

More than 25 different organizations and over $300,000 has been raised through the event.
