LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Louisville man died two weeks after being hit while standing alongside Interstate 265 early on a weekday morning.
Louisville Metro Police said the crash happened just after 5 p.m. Friday, Sept. 5. A driver got out of his disabled car on I-265 North near the Blue Lick Overpass and attempted to cross toward the shoulder. But while on the shoulder, LMPD said the man was hit by an oncoming car that was avoiding a commercial vehicle and the victim's own disabled vehicle.
The man was transported to UofL Hospital with critical injuries. He died Friday, Sept. 19, police said.
An investigation of the crash is being conducted by LMPD's Traffic Unit.
