LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — More than 140 new jobs are coming to Columbus, Indiana, as Toyota Material Handling North America invests $100 million in a new manufacturing facility.
Gov. Mike Braun joined company leaders to celebrate the opening of the nearly 295,000-square-foot factory, which will produce electric forklifts for Toyota Material Handling and The Raymond Corporation.
The $100 million expansion marks one of the company's largest manufacturing investments in North America since 1990 and is expected to help meet growing demand for electric forklifts through 2030.
Toyota Material Handling employs more than 2,100 people in Columbus and more than 3,400 across Indiana. The company has invested more than $600 million in its Columbus operations and has produced more than 900,000 forklifts in the state since 1990.
