LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Simpsonville's police chief was suspended amid an investigation into allegations of harassment and misconduct.

Chief Thomas Brummer was placed on paid leave effective immediately after a July 21 city meeting, according to the meeting minutes.

The city said it doesn't record its meetings, and the minutes were just published Wednesday. They show the city hired Advanced Investigations Solutions to conduct an investigation into allegations of harassment and misconduct, though no details were released about those allegations. 

The meeting minutes indicate Brummer's suspension is for up to 30 days or more, if needed. Sgt. David Alkins was named acting chief at a salary of $95,000 a year.

WDRB Investigates is still waiting on an open records request to be fulfilled. Brummer has not yet responded to a request for comment on his suspension.
