LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Louisville Metro Police are investigating after one man was killed and another was injured in a shooting late Wednesday night in Louisville's Portland neighborhood.
According to LMPD, officers responded to Jewish Hospital in the 200 block of East Chestnut Street around 12:30 a.m. Thursday after two gunshot victims arrived at the emergency room in a private vehicle.
Police said a man was pronounced dead at the hospital. A second man suffered injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening and is expected to survive.
Investigators determined the shooting happened in the 2000 block of West Main Street. Officers had already responded to the area after a ShotSpotter alert was activated at 11:53 p.m. Wednesday.
No suspects have been identified, and the LMPD Homicide Unit is leading the investigation.
