AUSTIN, Ind. (WDRB) -- The Centers for Disease Control is in Scott County, Indiana, testing hundreds of people for HIV.

Officials are trying to track down nearly 500 people to test them. They say some may have been exposed to the disease.

They also want to retest people who already tested negative, since the infection isn't always detectable in the early stages.

We asked Scott county health officials if they expect the number of HIV cases to rise with this testing blitz.

"I don't think there's gonna be a big number," Scott County Health Department's Patti Hall said. "There may be a few more additional, but you've got to realize too that we've laid steady at 181 for at least two months."

We're told the CDC will be in Scott County for two weeks.
