LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The city of Jeffersonville will take new steps to regulate short-term rentals in the city.
WDRB has been investigating the explosive growth of short-term rentals, listed on websites like Airbnb and VRBO, in the southern Indiana city.
Jeffersonville currently doesn't regulate or keep track of those properties.
The city council was weighing a moratorium, or a temporary pause, on all new short-term rentals but ultimately decided against it.Â
Instead, the council voted to establish a registry and update the city's zoning regulations to create an approval process for new short-term rentals.
The council gave the planning department 90 days to implement the new changes.
