LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The city of Louisville wants to lend a hand to residents impacted by storm damage.

Many homes in the Prospect area were in the path of an EF2 tornado last week. According to the National Weather Service in Louisville, the preliminary survey was upgraded to an EF-2 with 120 miles-per-hour winds in the Beachland Beach area.

City officials said people living in the 40059 zip code will have access to free debris removal.

Neighbors can bring their debris out to the curb for free pick up next week starting on April 15.

"This gives residents ample time to collect and transport their debris to their curb, so it can be picked up by the one of the contractors," Mayor Craig Greenberg said.

Veteran-led group Team Rubicon is also available to help neighbors with debris removal and chainsaw work at no costs. They can be reached at (469) 323-0106.
