Clarksville detectives investigating fatal fire

CLARKSVILLE, Ind. (WDRB) -- Clarksville homicide detectives are now investigating a fatal fire as a homicide.

Firefighters found the bodies of two people inside a burning home in the 400 block of North Randolph Avenue in Clarksville in the early morning hours of Oct. 9. The victims were identified as Amando "Miguel" Rodriguez Solis and Julio Cesar Ventura Monzon.

Fire officials determined that the fire was the result of arson and turned the investigation over to Clarksville police. During an investigation, Clarksville detectives determined that a third person was also living in the home, but his whereabouts are unknown.

Detectives are looking for Carlos Alberto Bonilla Canenguez. They say the 34-year-old vanished last week. Officials say the men were not well known in the community.

"I don't think a lot of people knew them. I think they stayed in the Mexican community," said Maj. Darrell Rayborn of the Clarksville Police Department. "They worked as roofers. I don't know if they were legal or illegal."

Neighbors we talked to say they kept to themselves. Brent Wilson of the Clarksville Fire Department said it has been at least a decade since they have seen more than one person die in a blaze. Police say they believe it is an isolated event, but they are asking for the public's help in finding Canenguez and say he is a person of interest in the case.
