LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A woman had to be rescued from a cave in Jennings County, Indiana Wednesday evening.

According to the Jennings County Sheriff's Facebook, a woman fell over a 60-foot cliff in a cave in The Muscatatuck Caverns near Butlerville in northeast Jennings County.

Two rescue members from Rescue 20 led a rope rescue operation that took about two and a half hours to get the woman to safety.

She was then taken by a helicopter to the hospital for treatment of serious injuries sustained in the fall. Her condition is unknown at this time.

Jennings County Sheriff's Office thanked the rescue crews for their hard work in the post. Crews from Rescue 20, Campbell Township Fire Department and Jennings County Central Dispatch assisted in the rescue.
