LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Four Louisville men are all facing federal gun smuggling charges.
The four men were arrested Friday. According to court documents, for the past year and a half, the four men conspired to send guns to Iraq without proper licenses.Â
According to the documents, Haider Lazem, 41, Hasan Wasak, 27, Abdullah Alsajee, 30, bought guns at guns shows in Louisville and delivered them to the fourth man, Haitham Al-Dulaimi, 30.
Federal law enforcement confiscated 38 guns from a shipment headed to Iraq.
If convicted, Lazem, Wasak and Alsajee face up to 35 years in prison for purchasing the firearms. Al-Dulaimi, who shipped the guns to Iraq, could face 40 years. There is no parole in the federal prison system.
