LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Louisville police are asking for the public's help after a person was shot in an apartment building in east Louisville Thursday night.

Officers were called to the 4900 block of Heathmoore Court just before 10 p.m. on a reported shooting, Louisville Metro Police Spokesperson Aaron Ellis said in a statement. That's off Westport Road, not far from Ford's Kentucky Truck Plant.

Once on scene, police found the victim with gunshot wounds. EMS transported the victim, whose age and gender are unknown, to University of Louisville Hospital with injuries not thought to be life-threatening, Ellis said.

It's unclear what may have led up to the shooting. LMPD's Non-Fatal Shooting Unit is investigating, but has no known suspects and has made no arrests.

Investigators are asking anyone who lives near the scene or may have been in the area at the time and has footage related to the shooting via cell phone or video surveillance to contact them.

Anyone with information in this or any other case is asked to call LMPD's anonymous Crime Tip Line at (502) 574-LMPD (5673). Tips can also be submitted anonymously through the department's Crime Tip Portal by clicking here.
