LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A Jeffersonville man is facing several fraud charges after police said he took money for a construction project and never finished it.

Indiana State Police said in a news release Wednesday that an investigation started in late January 2026 after receiving a complaint about "a significant payment" made for a home improvement project that was not completed.

Police said the complainants hired 48-year-old Christopher D. Thompson, of Jeffersonville, operating as C & K Improvements, to complete a home construction project in July 2025. The complainants paid Thompson about $55,000 for the project that was left unfinished.

Thompson was arrested and charged with four counts of fraud between $50,000 and $100,000, two counts of theft valued over $50,000 and two counts of fraud by use of a document, all felonies. He was booked in the Clark County jail.

He was in court Monday, May 18, for an initial hearing where he pleaded not guilty and posted a $1,500 bond. He is scheduled to be in court again on June 16.
