Marshall County double shooting involving sheriff's deputy

BENTON, Ky. (AP) — A sheriff's deputy who was killed in a shooting in Kentucky was identified Tuesday.

Chief Deputy Jody Cash of the Calloway County Sheriff's Office was killed in a shooting Monday afternoon in Marshall County, Kentucky State Police said. Another person was also killed in the shooting, but the identity has not been released.

Cash was a trooper with state police from 2011 until 2018 when he retired as a sergeant, the agency said.

State police have not released additional details.
