LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A firefighter with the Louisville Fire Department was arrested and charged with terroristic threatening and assault.
According to court documents, Louisville Fire Sgt. Ramiro Rodriquez was arrested Jan. 14, 2025, after two people said he hit them with his car.
Jeffersontown Police asked a towing service to move a vehicle that had been abandoned in the roadway and didn't have a license plate.
Court documents state that Rodriquez said he ran out of gas and walked to a gas station. Police told Rodriquez he could have his car if he paid the towing fee and Rodriquez told the tow driver he would "beat his a**."
Rodriquez paid the fee to get his car back, but followed the tow driver and continued to threaten him and another driver.Â
According to court documents, Rodriquez turned his vehicle around and hit both men with his car. Rodriquez left the scene before police arrived.
The incident was captured on video and police said Rodriquez was already driving on a suspended license.
Rodriquez has been initially charged with terroristic threatening, two charges of assault, leaving the scene of an accident and operating on a suspended license.
Louisville Fire Capt. Donovan Sims said Rodriquez was placed on paid administrative leave immediately following his arrest.
His bond was set at $5,000 and was posted Wednesday. Rodriquez isn't allowed to operate any motor vehicle at this time.
Rodriquez's preliminary hearing has been scheduled for Jan. 30.
Louisville Fire is also conducting an internal investigation.
