LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Police made an arrest Tuesday in a string of property crimes across Louisville.
Louisville Metro Police said Antonio Goldsberry, 40, was arrested Aug. 25 on a warrant on several charges, including criminal mischief, fraudulent use of a credit card, theft of contents from vehicles and theft-receiving two or more stolen debit or credit cards.
Goldsberry has an "alleged history of dozens of thefts and fraud attempts." Police claim he "operated across multiple areas of Louisville and was involved in a pattern of thefts that disrupted the lives of countless victims."
According to court documents, Goldsberry allegedly caused $500 or more in damage to the window of a victim's vehicle when he reportedly broke into it in June and stole several items, including two or more debit/credit cards, a $200 gift card, a driver's license and a purse. When filing a police report, the victim told officers her debit card was used at a local Kroger for more than $400. Goldsberry was identified through video surveillance from the Kroger showing him using the victim's card to buy a Visa gift card.
On Aug. 1, Goldsberry is accused of breaking into another vehicle and causing more than $1,600 in damage. He allegedly took several items, including a purse with a debit card, several credit cards, an ID, $600 in cash and $200 Airpods. Police said the victim tracked the headphones and found them damaged. An arrest citation states Goldsberry used three of the victim's credit cards at a local Kroger, making four transactions totaling more than $1,600.
In court for his arraignment Wednesday morning, Goldsberry pleaded not guilty and Judge Mary Jude Wolford set his bond at $25,000 cash. His next court appearance was scheduled for Sept. 3.
