Louisville man charged in deadly Shively bus stop crash denied bond reduction

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A Louisville man accused of driving drunk and crashing into a TARC bus stop in Shively appeared in court Monday.

Kevin Moore sought a bond reduction and release from home incarceration but the judge kept his bond at $1 million. He faces two counts of murder in addition to charges of DUI, disregarding a traffic light, criminal mischief, assault, wanton endangerment and reckless driving.

The crash happened just before 8 p.m. Monday, May 25, at the intersection of Rockford Lane and Dixie Highway, according to the Shively Police Department.

When officers arrived, they found a woman, identified as 43-year-old Danielle Cordes, dead at the scene. Two women were also taken to the hospital with critical and life-threatening injuries. One of those women, Jasmine Hereford, died at the hospital.

Two people at or near the bus stop at the time of the crash suffered minor injuries, police said.

Moore, 45, was arrested at the scene. According to an arrest citation, he told police the accident "was not his fault even though he was drunk due to him consuming alcoholic beverages."

Police said Moore told them he had been drinking tequila an hour before the crash.
