LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A 26-year-old man was charged with murder two weeks after a double shooting left one person dead on Dixie Highway near Valley Station.

On July 24, Louisville Metro Police said officers responded to a reported shooting in the 9900 block of Dixie Highway just before 1:30 p.m. Police found a man who had been shot, and he was taken to UofL Hospital. LMPD spokesperson Dwight Mitchell said the man died at the hospital.

Police also said a woman was brought to Southwest Hospital with a gunshot wound that appears to be related to the shooting. She was then taken to UofL Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

On Friday, LMPD said officers arrested Joseph McDonald and charged him with murder and first-degree assault (domestic violence).
