LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A man was taken to the hospital after being shot in the Russell neighborhood Monday evening, according to Louisville Metro Police.

LMPD spokesperson Aaron Ellis said police responded to a shooting in the 600 block of South 28th Street around 10:30 p.m. When police arrived on scene, they found a man who had been shot in the leg.

He was taken to the hospital and is expected to survive, according to Bradley.

LMPD's Non-Fatal Shooting Unit is investigating the shooting.
