LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A New Albany man was arrested Saturday night for intimidation, Indiana State Police said in a news release Tuesday.
ISP said a trooper stopped a white Hyundai passenger car in Jeffersonville for speeding and an equipment violation near Spring Street and Court Avenue. The trooper turned on his emergency lights to pull over the car, which stopped in the middle of the roadway.
The police lights illuminated inside the vehicle, and a trooper saw three passengers. According to police, the trooper saw the rear-seat passenger pull a black pistol from his waist and point the gun in the direction of the rear driver's side door.
The trooper drew his weapon and ordered the passenger to drop the gun. Police said 24-year-old Royal Lamont-Navro Allen dropped the handgun. He was taken into custody without incident.Â
ISP said the pistol was fully loaded and had a round in the chamber. Police said they also found marijuana in the vehicle.
Lamont-Navro Allen was taken to Clark County Jail. He was charged with two counts of intimidation, pointing a firearm and possession of marijuana. He is being held on a $25,000 cash bond.
