LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The Nelson County Sheriff's Office is investigating vehicle break-ins reported two nights in a row in local neighborhoods.

Suspects were seen breaking into vehicles first in the Cormans Crossing area, then again Thursday night in Saddlebrook. In both cases, the suspects fled before deputies arrived, according to a post on the sheriff's office Facebook page.

Deputies said "alert residents and active patrols" helped prevent further incidents.

The sheriff's office reminded residents to follow the "9 p.m. routine," to remove valuables from vehicles, lock doors and park in well-lit areas.

Anyone who sees suspicious activity is asked to contact Nelson County Dispatch immediately.
