LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Police released details on a shooting Monday morning at near a busy intersection in east Louisville. Â
The shooting was reported by 8:15 a.m. at Dutchmans Lane and Browns Lane.Â
St. Matthews Police Chief Barry Wilkerson told WDRB that's where a 14-year-old boy died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.Â
The teen was behind the wheel of a car that belonged to his family. Police said he was traveling from Sherburn Lane onto Browns Lane, when he hit another car. The vehicle came to a stop, and police say he took his own life with a firearm in the vehicle.Â
The name of the teen has not been released.Â
Wilkerson said police are investigating what may have led up to the teen driving the car.Â
