LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A pregnant woman and her unborn child died at UofL Hospital after a domestic violence shooting in Glasgow, Kentucky, police said.
Officers responded to the 1100 block of Cleveland Avenue after reports of a pregnant woman shot while inside a vehicle during a domestic incident.
Investigators said 25-year-old Brandon Lee Bond allegedly shot the victim during the altercation, then fled the scene while armed. He was later found in a wooded area nearby and taken into custody without incident.
The victim — identified by police as 22-year-old Ava Woodcock — was flown from a local hospital to UofL Hospital with life-threatening injuries. Police confirmed Tuesday that both Woodcock and her unborn child died.
Bond was charged with murder-domestic violence, fetal homicide in the 1st degree and fleeing or evading police in the first degree. He is currently in custody at Barren County Detention Center.
The investigation is ongoing.
