LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Kentucky Rep. Andy Barr's Senate campaign headquarters in Lexington was damaged due to alleged vandalism Thursday.
According to LEX18 News, Lexington Police are investigating reports of vandalism at the headquarters. The outlet reported the alleged vandalism was reported around 3 p.m., and the police department is working with the Capital Police Department on the investigation.
It's not clear at this time what exactly the act of vandalism was and what damage was caused.
Barr is running to replace Sen. Mitch McConnell, who is retiring at the end of his term in January 2027.
In a statement on X, Barr thanked police for their response to what he called a break-in.
Today, a crazed radical who opposed my politics broke into our campaign HQ and damaged our office. Praise God that our staff and volunteers are safe.

Just like our President said, we will always FIGHT, FIGHT, FIGHT for what we believe in. I'll never back down. Thank you to…
"Today, an unhinged radical broke into and damaged the campaign headquarters of Andy Barr, the leading Republican candidate for U.S. Senate. This radical has been a frequent critic of Barr's politics," Barr's office said, followed by a statement from his campaign communications director, Alex Bellizzi, that read:
"Just 48 hours after the President’s historic State of the Union Address, a radical extremist broke into the campaign office of Andy Barr—the champion of the America First movement in Kentucky. While we are relieved that our staff and volunteers are safe, this is a cowardly attempt to intimidate our movement. We want to thank the Lexington Police Department for their swift and professional response. Let there be no doubt: Andy Barr will not be intimidated. He will never back down from his principles or fighting for the hardworking people of Kentucky. This radical was motivated to attack our office because he disagreed with Andy Barr’s conservative beliefs. Political violence has been a growing trend in our country, and there is no place for it.”
It's unclear at this time whether anyone has been arrested. LEX18 said police did not find a suspect when they responded to the report. No staffers reported any injuries.
