Once officers arrived on scene, they found a woman dead inside from a gunshot wound. The Jefferson County Coroner's Office identified her as 61-year-old Melinda Doolin.

Shortly after, a man was found outside the apartment with a stab wound.

Ellis said he was taken to UofL Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
