LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A 29-year-old woman was indicted by a Jefferson County grand jury on a murder charge in the death of a 4-month-old girl in September 2025.
Officer Adam Sears, a spokesperson for Louisville Metro Police, said detectives were notified at 4:46 p.m. Sept. 19, 2025, of a 4-month-old who was in "grave condition" at Norton Children's Hospital.
Police said the child sustained serious traumatic injuries and wasn't expected to survive.
LMPD said Monday that Maria Perez was indicted on a murder charge in connection with the incident. Court documents say arrest warrant was issued for Perez last week after the indictment.Â
In court Wednesday morning, judge Susan Gibson set her bond at $250,000 cash.
