LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The Jefferson County Board of Education will look a bit different next year, with two current members not seeking reelection.
Sarah McIntosh, from District 7, and Joe Marshall, from District 4, will not run again.Â
Marshall was one of the three board members who called a special board meeting earlier this week to vote on a new transportation plan for Jefferson County Public Schools. He made a motion to table the vote during that meeting, which failed. He ultimately voted against the plan that passed — which cuts transportation for most magnet and traditional schools with the exception of Central and Western high schools.
In a statement to WDRB News, McIntosh said "I decided about a year ago that the time it takes away from my family isn't fair to them. I have kids, a husband, and a grandmother who need me to be available more."
Two other members are up for reelection and are set to run again. Those are Chris Kolb, from District 2, and Gail Logan Strange, who was appointed last year following Diane Porter's retirement.
Other board members Linda Duncan, Corrie Shull and James Craig are not up for reelection until 2027.
