LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The East Washington School Corporation in southern Indiana is investigating a situation at its high school in Pekin.
In a letter sent to parents on Thursday, Superintendent Rebecca jones said they will take "appropriate action," but there were no specific details explaining the situation.
In a letter on Friday, Jones said the safety and wellbeing of students is of paramount importance, but still did not elaborate on what happened.
The letter did say the district will reevaluate its policy regarding student use of cellphones. WDRB News called Jones on Friday, but she said the district's attorney advised her not to comment.
The Washington County Sheriff said the school's SROs are handling the investigation. The sheriff's office also didn't provide information about the nature of the investigation, but did say so far, no one has been arrested.
