LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The Jefferson County Board of Education is expected to review $142 million in cuts to Jefferson County Public Schools during its meeting Tuesday evening.

Superintendent Dr. Brian Yearwood unveiled the initial plan last Wednesday.

Of the proposed cuts, 80% would come from Central Office positions, supplemental programs and reworking the teachers union contract.

A revised version of the plan reported Friday does not include previously proposed cuts to instructional coach positions. Instead, plans call for cutting mental health practitioners at certain schools.

Tuesday's meeting will be the first time the board will debate on the proposed cuts. A final vote is expected by May.

WDRB will have a crew at the meeting.
