LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Students and parents around Louisville got the chance to plan for their future at Jefferson County Public Schools' annual Showcase of Schools on Saturday.
The showcase was held at the Norton Healthcare Sports & Learning Center. It was the second year the event was held at the center in the city's west end.
Every JCPS school had a booth set up at the showcase to give families a chance to ask questions and decide what school is the best fit for students. The Showcase of Schools is designed to give families insights about schools so they can make an informed decision about where to send their children next school year.
"It is a one stop shop for families to come in and learn about the educational choices available to their students," said Carolyn Callahan, JCPS Chief of Communications. "We also have lots of community partners here and departments here so you can learn all their is to learn about JCPS."
Prior to the showcase, families can see detailed highlights of the offerings at every school through JCPS' Choices Guides by clicking here. JCPS also provided transportation to the showcase with several drop-off and pick-up locations around the city.
The application period for families to apply to their school of choice for incoming kindergarteners, sixth graders and freshmen runs Nov. 11-Dec. 20.
