LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Jefferson County Public Schools said "a few staff members" were hurt while breaking up a fight at Eastern High School Tuesday morning.
The district said their injuries were minor, but an ambulance was called for one employee.
The school's principal sent a letter to families explaining that several students got into a fight in one of the hallways.
Staff members immediately tried to break up the fight and called JCPS Police.
"The safety and wellbeing of our students and staff is our top priority," Principal Chris Collins wrote in the letter.
The district said the students involved in the fight are being disciplined according to the district's handbook. Collins said the students could face criminal charges.
