LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Saint Xavier High School was one of seven Kentucky schools named Tuesday as a 2023 National Blue Ribbon School.
More than 350 schools were recognized nationwide, an honor that "affirms and validates the hard work of students, educators, families, and communities in striving for – and attaining – exemplary achievement. National Blue Ribbon Schools represent the full diversity of American schools and serve students of every background," the U.S. Department of Education said in a news release Tuesday.
Below is the full list of seven Kentucky schools awarded this year:
- Drakes Creek Middle School in Bowling Green
- Potter Gray Elementary School in Bowling Green
- Cassidy Elementary School in Lexington
- Saint Xavier High School in Louisville
- Farmington Elementary School in Mayfield
- Russell High School in Russell
- Villa Madonna Academy Elementary School in Villa Hills
In southern Indiana, Utica Elementary School was also named a 2023 National Blue Ribbon School.
