LOUISVILLE, KY. (WDRB) --Â Officials say a collapsed Kentucky bridge will be back open in about two months.
Hall Contracting, which repaired the Sherman Minton Bridge, has started work on the Eggner's Ferry Bridge that spans Kentucky Lake in the southwest part of the state.
A cargo ship hit the bridge in January, tearing off a 320-foot section.
That prompted Governor Steve Beshear to declare a regional state of emergency, allowing the state to ask for federal money to help pay for the repairs. The bridge is scheduled to reopen by May 27th.
