LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The Frazier History Museum will celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Kentucky Colonels winning the ABA Championship.

The Kentucky Colonels competed in the American Basketball Association from 1967 to 1976. The professional basketball team in Louisville defeated the Indiana Pacers in 1975 to win the ABA Championship at Freedom Hall.

Lloyd Gardner was the trainer, equipment manager and travel secretary of the team. He will share some memories of the team at the museum, located at 829 W. Main Street in downtown Louisville, Thursday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The Colonels played their final season in 1976 as the team in Louisville didn't make the cut as one of four ABA franchises merged into the NBA.

The museum will have a collection of Kentucky Colonels' uniforms, shoes, box scores and apparel on display in the Cool Kentucky exhibit.
