LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The South Central Regional Library had a special guest Saturday who was definitely horsing around.
Hank the Horse stopped by the library to bring some joy to the children and their families. He has been to 34 libraries and even has 34 library cards.
Hank is part of a Lexington-based nonprofit called "For Hank's Sake," which is dedicated to rehabilitating neglected and abused horses. For some of the children there, they have never seen a real horse in person.
"The inspiration is really to encourage and inspire literacy and excellence," said Tammi Reagan, who organized Saturday's event.
There was a scavenger hunt and crafts all about horses, and every child who attended got a book to take home.
