LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — The former leader of the Louisville Urban League is stepping down as CEO of a New York think tank.
Sadiqa Reynolds stepped down as CEO of the Perception Institute, effective Sept. 15, according to our partners at Louisville Business First. Reynolds will remain with the company through the end of the year as a strategic adviser.
The Perception Institute brings researchers and strategists to use mind science to change how people are treated, how companies function and engage with one another.
Reynolds will now able to focus solely on the Norton Healthcare Sports and Learning Center in Louisville's west end, where she is the current president. She also founded the complex, overseeing the construction of the $53 million facility that opened in 2021.
The move comes three years after Reynolds stepped down as president of Louisville Urban League, where she increased the league's budget by millions during her seven-year tenure.
Before going to the Louisville Urban League, Reynolds was a defense attorney and opened a private practice, representing abused and neglected children, Louisville Business First reports. She also served as Kentucky Inspector General in 2008, and appointed as Jefferson County District Judge a year later. She was also the first Black woman to clerk for the Kentucky Supreme Court.
