Billowing black smoke could be seen over parts of downtown Bowling Green, Kentucky, on Wednesday, March 27, 2024, from a fire at Valor Oil.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Billowing black smoke could be seen over parts of downtown Bowling Green, Kentucky, on Wednesday.

It came from a fire at Valor Oil. According to the company's website, they're a petroleum distributor that handles fuel, additives, lubricants and diesel exhaust fluid.

Firefighters evacuated some area businesses and a nearby small school. No injuries have been reported.

A hazmat team was called in to handle fuel runoff. An investigation into what caused the fire is ongoing.
