LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The Kentucky Lottery has been helping fund college scholarships and grants to Kentucky students for 25 years. President and CEO Mary Harville joined WDRB Mornings on Tuesday to talk about their 35th birthday celebration and the scholarship programs.
Recently, Gov. Andy Beshear announced that the Kentucky Lottery has given $5 billion to college scholarships and grants since 1999.
"We're only in the commonwealth of Kentucky, sending Kentucky kids to school," Harville said.
Kentucky Lottery funds every dime of the KEES scholarships as well as two need-based scholarships, dual-credit programs, work-ready programs and much more.Â
Students can apply for any of those scholarships or programs here.
In honor of their 35th birthday celebration, the Kentucky Lottery is bringing out some new games and promotions. Starting May 9, they will launch a set of five scratch-off games called the "Vegas Vibe." Inside those five games is $61 million worth of prizes.
Another promotion running right now is the "NASCAR Powerball" promotion. All you have to do is buy $3 on a Powerball ticket and enter online for a chance to win a trip to Phoenix for the NASCAR championship race.
