LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Kentucky man claims he dropped off two vehicles at a mechanic shop for repairs, but they were crushed instead.

Shawn Long said he dropped them off at a shop and used car lot on Holmes Street in Frankfort July 20.

Long said he stopped by periodically to check on repairs and was told it was still a work in progress.

But about three weeks after dropping off the vehicles, he tried to reach out to the mechanic again.

"There was a truck I was interested in and he didn't respond to that," Long told LEX 18 News. "That's when I knew something was up and that's when I drove out here and saw the whole place was empty."

Police told him his cars had been scrapped. A Frankfort Police detective is now working on the case.
