LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Three hundred soldiers from the Kentucky National Guard were deployed southeast Asia on Saturday.

There were several deployment ceremonies around Kentucky on Saturday, including soldiers who are part of the 623rd Field Artillery Unit.

The national guard said their deployment is not related to the Israel-Hamas war, but instead a standard rotation to support Middle Eastern allies. It's part of Operation Spartan Shield.

"As you go on your way to your deployment, you have been well-trained with great leadership for your mission, we the citizens of Monticello will have continued prayers for you and your families and look forward to your safe return."

Other ceremonies were held on Saturday in Campbellsville, Hopkinsville and Glasgow.
