LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A bill was filed in the Kentucky General Assembly that aims to strengthen family-focused workplace policies.
If the bill passed, Kentucky state employees would be provided with 30 days of paid maternity leave following the birth of a child. State employees would also receive an extra 10 paid days to use within the child's first year.
“This legislation recognizes the importance of supporting working families while maintaining a responsible and clearly defined policy for state government," Sen. Matt Deneen, R-Elizabethtown, said in a release.
The bill would not affect an employee's retirement benefits, family, or other medical leave.
