LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The Louisville Ballet will launch an audition tour soon.

Ballet Bound is a program offering free access to classical ballet training for children between the ages of 7-9. Twenty talented young dancers will get a year of free ballet training, including tuition and uniforms.

At the end of that year, five students will get full scholarships covering tuition for up to 10 years.

Auditions will be held at parks around the city on June 7, 14 and 21. No previous dance experience is required. The Louisville Ballet said the program is a "pipeline" to the Louisville Ballet School, the Louisville Ballet Studio Company and a possible career with the Louisville Ballet.

"Ballet Bound is one of the most meaningful ways we connect with our community," Stacey Blakeman, director of community engagement at Louisville Ballet, said in a news release Tuesday. "By meeting children where they are — in their neighborhoods and parks — we’re opening doors to the arts that many never imagined were available to them. We believe talent is everywhere, and this program helps us nurture it."
