LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A member of Louisville Metro Council is weighing in after the city proposed adding parking meters on parts of Bardstown Road.Â
Councilman Ben Reno-Weber, D-8, issued a written statement regarding the PARC study for metered spaces on Bardstown Road in his newsletter.
Reno-Weber thanked residents for their input and stressed that the proposal "is just a study about where parking meters along the Bardstown Road corridor currently are and where they COULD be," and no final decisions have been made.
Reno-Weber said he "met with PARC leadership and the Mayor's office" to request a comprehensive plan for how parking in the city should evolve."
Referencing the potential inconveniences that people who frequent the busy corridor are already experiencing, he suggested that "the best way to support the vibrancy of the Bardstown Road corridor is to shop there!"
Reno-Weber then issued a challenge to "everyone who has been involved with this issue (and there are lots of us) to snap a selfie while shopping at your favorite local spot on Bardstown Road and tag @CouncilmanBenRenoWeber."
