LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Louisville woman who was charged with 24 counts of animal abuse was arraigned Wednesday, months after 20 cats were found dead a home in Okolona.Â
Tiffany Arnold is accused of leaving 24 cats inside an empty house in the 7300 block of Leisure Court. That's where Louisville Metro Animal Services officials responded to the house on March 11, but were unable to locate Arnold for permission to get inside until March 17.Â
Once LMAS entered the home, they found 20 dead cats, and four cats that were still alive. One of those cats was rushed to an animal hospital but had to be euthanized due to the severity of its injuries, according to court documents.
Eight cats that were found dead in the home were too decayed for necropsy exams.Â
Arnold agreed to surrender the cats that were still alive to LMAS. She was arrested on Aug. 5. Her bond was set at $7,500. Â
During her arraignment on Aug. 6, the judge entered not guilty pleas on her behalf and kept her bond at $7,500 cash. The judge also ordered a court-appointed attorney to represent Arnold.Â
Her next court appearance is scheduled for Aug. 14.Â
