LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB/WAVE) — A Louisville nonprofit received a sizable donation Monday in support of affordable housing.

Window Nation, a national home improvement company, hosted a donation pick-up Monday at its Louisville showroom. The company unveiled 76 windows and one door being donated to Habitat for Humanity of Metro Louisville, totaling to $23,000 in products.

The donation is part of an effort from the company to provide $425,000 worth of windows and doors to Habitat for Humanity affiliates across the country.

The products will help stock the nonprofit's ReStore outlets, which offer home improvement products at a discounted price while diverting reusable materials from landfills. Louisville's outlet is located off of Taylorsville Road in the Hike's Point neighborhood.

Kathryn Bomar-Stoner, Window Nation's operations manager, said Monday the company has "a reputation of wanting to be involved" with the communities they have branches in.

"Company-wide, we had windows that we needed to do something with," Bomar-Stoner said. "The decision was made to donate them to Habitat for Humanity."

Window Nation said the donations will help benefit Habitat for Humanity's broader mission to build and repair safe, affordable housing.
