LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Clean drinking water could reach disaster zones faster through a new partnership announced by Louisville-based WaterStep and two global organizations.
The collaboration brings together Israel-based GALMOBILE's mobile water filtration technology, WaterStep's water safety and emergency response training, and Missouri-based WorldServe International's humanitarian network.
Officials demonstrated the technology by filtering water from the Ohio River, showing how the mobile system can quickly produce safe drinking water during emergencies.
"WaterStep has long believed that safe water solutions must be practical, deployable, and backed by the training people need to use them well," WaterStep Founder and CEO Mark Hogg said.
GALMOBILE Deputy CEO Sigal Levi said the partnership will make the company's mobile water treatment technology available to more communities facing water shortages.
WorldServe International President John Bongiorno said combining the organizations' knowledge will help communities respond more quickly when safe drinking water is suddenly out of reach.
