LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — The Louisville Orchestra has a new leader as the organization looks to build on a record-setting season.
The orchestra announced Wednesday that Jude Vaclavik has been selected as its new Chief Executive Officer.
Before joining the Louisville Orchestra, Vaclavik served as Vice President of Classical Publishing and Promotion at Universal Music Group, where he led one of the company’s fastest-growing classical music publishing businesses.
"When I thought about the next phase of my professional life, I imagined being at a place centered on world-class artistry, innovation and community," Vaclavik said.
Louisville Orchestra Board Chair Jordan Harris said Vaclavik’s background made him stand out during the search.
"Jude brings a rare combination of artistic insight, business acumen and entrepreneurial thinking," Harris said.
The announcement comes after a successful year for the Louisville Orchestra. The organization reached more than 75,000 people through performances, education programs and community initiatives.
The orchestra also had its highest number of sold-out concerts in its history, with 19 sold-out performances during its most recent season.
Vaclavik said he plans to continue growing the orchestra’s impact in Louisville and beyond while building on its reputation for innovation in classical music.
